May Featured Artist
Karen Chadbourne
The rolling hills, seascapes and tidal marshes of Karen’s hometown, Stonington, Connecticut are the source of her lifetime inspiration, capturing in plein air the natural beauty of the coast. Every year she returns to the area with friends to paint her favorite place, Block Island. Karen has traveled with fellow artists to Europe painting in France, Italy and Portugal. She began painting with acrylics, but shortly moved into oils, studying with Russell Neagle for ten years, and then falling in love with watercolor. Karen considers herself a Contemporary Impressionist and her subject matter is predominately landscapes and seascapes, especially wetland areas. She recently moved to Melbourne Beach, joined the Art and Antique Studio, and now enjoys capturing the Florida coast line.
