Description of Work:
My artwork is constantly evolving. I started out painting a variety of subjects and now I am concentrating on subjects with a lot of texure. I love to add texture to my paintins giving them added depth and dimension. Each workshop opens new avenues and ways of handling these techniques. I try everything and anything to put it on paper. Using brilliant colors and unusual subject matter appeals to me the most. I love artist, Joseph Raffael's colorful work and with his "jewel-like passages". They are awesome.
I love lots of color and texturing when painting. It is not unusual for me to get up in the middle of the night to plan a painting and begin it right then and there. My goal is to produce the best work I can and to sell to the patron that enjoys what I see in my paintings, the journey it took to complete the piece and the final image. I enjoy doing small pieces of work and then redoing them in a larger size. I can honestly say, I may not have valued my art work back in high school but know that i truly enjoy every minute of it now. By the way, I located my buddy Brian after 49 years. I can't wait to get his critique of my work.
I hope my paintings will be lasting proof of my existence. It's not always about the sale of the painting but how much people see that I have transformed this blank piece of paper into what is my own creativity and style. Its sort of like when you first meet a person you see thake them at face value, but the more you get to know them or study the painting you are drawn into it and see many facets and layers of the painting, much like you do a person. Something you want around you for a long time, maybe forever.
