CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Art & Antique Studio and Gallery announces their "ART of EIGHTS" Project.


This is a monthly ongoing show. Each show will be on exhibit for at least one month from the first of the month until the end of the month in our Gallery and will be shown on our web site for a period of at least three months including the month of your show. Subject and styles are open to the artists’ choice.
Artwork should be suitable for family viewing.

1. ELIGIBILITY:
Artwork exhibited will be selected from actual work. All entries must be original, not previously exhibited in any show at the Art & Antique Studio. Open to all artist 18 years of age and over and residing or working in the United States. Each artist may submit up to three works during any one month period. Artists may reapply each month. Artwork must be appropriate for family viewing.

2. SPECIFICATIONS FOR ARTWORK:
All artwork must be created on the 8x8 canvas supplied by our Gallery upon registration. Artwork entries are to be returned unframed. Edges should be finished or painted. Please clearly mark your work with your name, address, telephone number, title of the work, medium, and price on the bottom back of the painting. Accepted mediums: oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, charcoal, graphite, collage, monoprint, pen and ink, colored pencils, mixed media. No photography or 3-D works.
8. PACKING:
Insert painting into white envelope with label in upper right hand corner completed. Then wrap each package in a padded envelope or bubble wrap secured with rubber bands or string - NO TAPE. No Styrofoam peanuts. Pack securely in a sturdy carton strong enough for return mailing. No wooden crates. Padded envelopes may be used, but artwork should be wrapped in bubble wrap also. Include a self-addressed return label, return postage and the optional bio inside the box and a signed copy of the entry form.
3. PRICE AND COMMISSION:
Art & Antique Studio will not collect a sales commission for Art of Eights paintings. All work must be for sale. The Gallery will collect and pay a 6% state sales tax.
9. SHIPPING:
Work shipped must be delivered / received at the gallery no later than the third Friday of each month to be included into the next month’s show. Artwork must be sent/delivered in white envelope with label completed on upper right corner of envelope. All artwork will be shipped back in the container/envelope that is was received in.
Please ship work in sturdy, reusable containers via post office or UPS to: Art & Antique Studio, 1419 Highland Ave., Melbourne, FL 32935.
4. FEES:
The entry fee of $30 for each work is non-refundable, whether your work is accepted or not. Include return postage label and postage for mailed entries. Entries may also be dropped off at the gallery during our regular business hours Monday - Friday 10 AM - 5 PM, or Saturday 9 AM - 4 PM. 10. ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF DELIVERY:
Enclose a stamped self-addressed post card to receive this service. We will notify you when package is received if post card is enclosed. Watch the website to see your artwork posted otherwise.
5. JURORS:
A panel of expert judges will jury the entries for admission into each month‘s show.
11. RETURN OF WORKS:
If art work is not accepted, it will be returned after jurying. Artwork accepted into the shows will remain at the Gallery during the three months that it will be displayed on our web site. Artwork will be returned in shipping materials provided by artist at delivery/receipt of canvas.
6. LIABILITY:
All entries will receive the utmost care in handling and security precautions. However, no responsibility will be assumed by the Art & Antique Studio, Inc. or individual receivers for loss or damage to works while in transit or in the custody of the Gallery in connection with or during the Show. It is understood that the sending of work in response to this prospectus constitutes an agreement on the part of the sender to ALL conditions set forth in this prospectus.
12. REPRODUCTION AND PROMOTION:
Art & Antique Studio reserves the right to photograph and document all works for publicity, internet use, and record keeping purposes.
Entry into the show constitutes an agreement with all conditions of this show as stated in this prospectus.

7. BIOGRAPHIES:
Artists’ biographies are not mandatory but are highly recommended. Art & Antique Studio, will have them available during the Show, giving collectors access to them. These biographies will be given to the purchaser upon a sale.
