Debbie Johnson - Beginner, Intermediate,
and Advanced Watercolor -
Debbie grew up in Michigan where she was a commercial artist and technical illustrator for many years. She taught in Michigan for several years before she and her husband moved to the Melbourne area in 2008.
Debbie specializes in teaching Beginners in watercolor. She takes her students through a logical process, teaching them how to develop watercolors from the most basic concepts, demonstrating each step of the process. Beginner's Workshop is a great review for those who have already taken watercolor. Classes are designed to be taken in progression from beginner's to advanced.
Debbie also has several one-day watercolor workshops coming up. These workshops focus on a particular subject and a painting should be nearly completed by the end of the day, topics include still life, garden/landscape, and water scenes. Kknowledge of the four basic washes and some brushwork is helpful. See Debbie's website for more details.

Lolly Walton - Creativity 101
Are you at a standstill with your art?Don't know what direction you want to go? Can't figure out what the problem is? Is it your subject matter, color, composition/design? Join Lolly for inspiration and challenges that will jumpstart your paintings. Mayber you creativity is what is missing from your paintings. In this class you will experiment with watercolor techniques and then explore where your creativity takes them.

Vicki Damon - Silk Painting Workshops
Silk painter, Vicki Damon, is now offering the first hand painted silk workshops at the Art and Antique Studio, in the Arts District of downtown Eau Gallie.
Silk painting is a very versatile medium in which you can create silk scarves, wearable art, wall hangings, pillows and much more.
All you need to participate is to reserve one of the dates and bring some ideas for your personal designs and a big imagination. Designs will be available at the workshop for those who need a little inspiration.
Workshops are approximately 4 hours. Payment and pre-registration are required (cash or check only, please). Contact Vicki or visit the gallery to sign up.

You will learn the use of resist, French dyes, different types of silks, and painting techniques. You will also take away with you your own hand painted silk scarf, and two silk squares of your own design.

During this class, students will learn about and experiment with line and shading techniques in pen & ink to create the illusion of form, texture and value. Using only a simple pen, the variety of expression is endless. In addition we learn how to incorporate other media such as watercolor and clored pencil and work with quick and dirty sketching to more finished renderings.

Dij Pacarro - Quilting
Petals in Fabric
Dij Pacarro is a master quilter and creates lovely art quilts which may be seen in the Art and Antique Studio Gallery.
Learn how to create a painterly fabric collage of your favorite flower(s), in a fun, free spirited technique. You will create a complete wall hanging, while learning how to free cut and fuse fabric scraps, do free motion machine quilting, and finish with borders and binding. Sewing machine required, along with some sewing experience.

Bring a painting for the critique or just take part in the interesting discussions each month. First half of the evening will be dedicated to critiquing your paintings and the second half of the evening will be dedicated to discussions about art, art marketing, framing, composition and a lot more. February’s topic will be “How to do a critique”. Topics will be different each month. Subjects posted on the Bulletin Board and on the web for each month’s discussions.
We can only critique 15 paintings. The first to sign up will fill the spots. Art Talk limited to 20 artists. Pizza and refreshments will be served. Must r.s.v.p. to participate
