CONNIE MARSHALL’S journey into her world of art began on a hillside overlooking the Susquehanna River in the beautiful state of Maryland. In her teenage years there, she studied oil painting in the small art colony of Paul Honore’. He was a true French impressionist, well known muralist, illustrator and printmaker listed in “Who’s Who in Art” in his time. Connie’s travels took her to the high desert of California. She continued to study oil painting and was greatly inspired by the ever changing desert landscape, the surrounding purple mountains, spectacular rocky coastline and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. During her stay there she became an active member of a vibrant co-op gallery in Lancaster, California. Her life adventures brought her to Florida where she discovered the beauty and transparency of watercolor that lends itself so well to the light and airy colors of this area. She studied under several well-known artists and local art teachers and has accumulated many awards over the years both here and in California. The aim of her works is to portray the essence and feeling of the piece with a story, impressionistically rather than realistically. She is an active member of the Art and Antique Gallery. She finds the art there humbling, inspirational and rewarding. Connie can be reached at Dmarsent@aol.com. A reception will be held in Connie’s honor on First Friday, July 1, from 5:30 – 8:30 pm. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited free of charge.
